mommy morning

Hudson and I had a fun morning...started at the Tea Lounge for a snack and then we went to the playground. It was wet from yesterday's rain, but still fun (the slide was just that much faster!

hard day's night...

Poor Sterling has been fighting some nasty digestive distress manifest in some crying fits in the evening/night. Thankfully after a week they are getting better. We have tilted his mattress, eliminated dairy from my diet, added a probiotic to his diet, and used symethicone and gripe water. The fits are not as long as Hudson's were, but it is exhausting trying to soothe such an uncomfortable baby. He's gaining weight well (11lb 4oz this week!) and growing (21.5"!) so that is good. He is also getting more alert!

Underpants! Hudson asked for them in lieu of a diaper. We'll see how long this lasts.

growing up

It is amazing how much Hudson is growing! Not only is he starting to help take care of his little brother - fetching the paci and tossing the dirty nappies - he also is starting to master the scoot bike!

5 weeks!

Sterling is filling out! He is getting more and more aware of his surroundings each day. He loves hearing his big brother make noise!

let it snow!

 So we got our big snow of the year two Saturdays ago. It was the first "real" big snow that we got to take Hudson out and actually have fun! First off, isn't Sterling getting cute? he is really filling out.

 Hudson decided to 'help' Daddy shovel the walk....

 

Then the next day we went to the park - there was so much snow! It was the most I had seen at the park. We used the washer pan that didn't get installed with a couple of modifications for a rope pull. Hudson loved being pulled on the 'sled'.

 

A lot of people were inventive when it came to crafting sleds - this family used a laundry basket and a climbing rope.

 

The snow was so pretty  - and there was a ton of it so you could really only tell where the path was due to the absence of trees. Dave pulled Hudson up and down a gentle slope on the great lawn a dozen or so times. Hudson really loved it...

I think Sterling stayed the warmest in the Beco carrier - but Hudson had a ton of fun! We were glad we brought extra mittens as the first pair got pretty soaked.

It was nice to make some memories!

4 weeks!

Sterling is growing like a weed! No more wrinkly skin -  he is chubbing out!

This beautiful blanket was handmade by David's Aunt Dorothy.

The past couple days have been a little hard as he has been cranky due to infant gas. We got some infant pro-biotic which hopefully that will help!

Hudson is honing his artistic skills on multiple fronts. The first way includes series of self portraiture photographs. Secondly he is honing his cutting skills in preparation of valentine creation. He can't make a cut without having his mouth open!

We got to give Sterling his first real bath today. He *loved* the water and was super calm..except when Hudson started to clean him with the vegetable brush! He is such a cutie!

weekly catch-up

So, being under the weather with the sinus/ear infection for over a week has made me remiss in posting these, but better late than never! Good news is that I had taken the photos, just had to get them ready to post.

 

And now some shots from week two. Sterling already intermittently lifts his head on his own.
